Kuala Lumpur, 2 September 2026 — IntelliS Global and the Energy Industries Council (EIC) will co-host The Far East Energy Dialogue, a strategic panel session at EIC Connect OGA 2026, taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Sabrina Cheng, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of IntelliS Global, has been invited to serve as Moderator for this flagship session.

Dialogue Themes

This strategic dialogue brings together two of Asia’s most influential energy economies — China and Japan — to explore collaboration opportunities across the offshore energy sector. The session will address four core themes:

  1. Decarbonisation Pathways & Energy Security
    — Exploring strategies to balance the pace of energy transition with supply stability, and aligning carbon neutrality commitments with energy security frameworks.
  2. Digitalisation Transforming Offshore Operations
    — Examining how digital technologies are reshaping FPSO, subsea, and offshore operational scenarios to enhance efficiency, safety, and cost performance.
  3. Cross-Border Joint Ventures & Investment Opportunities
    — Focusing on capital collaboration, technology complementarity, and co-investment models between Chinese and Japanese enterprises in Southeast Asian offshore markets.
  4. Building Trust-Based Partnerships Beyond Borders
    — Discussing how to construct long-term, mutually beneficial industrial partnerships across cultural and institutional frameworks.

Strategic Significance

China and Japan: Twin Engines of Asia’s Energy Landscape

China is the world’s largest energy consumer and a central driver of the global energy transition, holding leading positions in manufacturing, technology, and infrastructure. Japan, as one of Asia’s most mature energy technology markets, possesses deep expertise in offshore engineering, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and hydrogen energy. The depth of dialogue and cooperation between these two economic powerhouses carries strategic implications for the Asia-Pacific and global energy transition.

EIC × IntelliS Global: A Partnership in Progress

This session at OGA 2026 builds on an established collaboration. EIC and IntelliS Global previously co-hosted their inaugural joint event in Shanghai, attracting close to 100 participants from China, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia. Keynote speakers at that event included:

  • Prof Guanglian Pang — Deputy Secretary-General, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF)
  • Dr Gianni Di Giovanni — Chairman, ICBC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (China)
  • Sabrina Cheng — Founder & CEO, IntelliS Global
  • Ts. Syed Saggaf Syed Ahmad — Regional Director, EIC Asia-Pacific

The Kuala Lumpur session marks an evolution of this partnership — from a China-focused market briefing to a cross-regional strategic dialogue platform connecting East Asia with Southeast Asia.
