Position Overview
The Asset Manager - Offshore carries full profit-and-loss accountability for an offshore producing asset or portfolio of assets, responsible for maximising value through safe and efficient operations, capital investment, and life-cycle management. This role requires a unique blend of technical, commercial, and leadership capabilities. As the industry focuses on maximising economic recovery from existing fields and extending asset life, experienced asset managers are increasingly sought after.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry full P&L accountability for offshore producing asset(s), managing revenue, OPEX, and CAPEX budgets.
- Develop and execute asset business plans, including short-term and long-term production forecasts and investment plans.
- Champion HSE performance and ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Lead asset integrity management and ensure fitness-for-purpose of all safety-critical equipment.
- Manage the asset team including operations, maintenance, engineering, and HSE personnel.
- Identify and sanction incremental investment opportunities (infill wells, tie-backs, facility upgrades) to maximise asset value.
- Manage relationships with joint venture partners, government regulators, and key stakeholders.
- Oversee production operations and drive continuous improvement in asset performance.
- Develop and implement life extension and decommissioning strategies for ageing assets.
- Ensure effective handover from project to operations for new field developments.
Qualifications
Required
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA or Master's preferred
- Certifications: Chartered Engineer preferred; BOSIET/FOET; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience: 15–20+ years in offshore oil & gas with 5+ years in asset management or senior operations leadership
- Technical Skills: P&L management and commercial acumen; asset integrity management; production operations; regulatory and partner management; HSE leadership; life-cycle cost management
Preferred
- Experience managing FPSO or deep-water asset portfolios
- Involvement in late-life asset management and decommissioning planning
- Knowledge of production sharing contracts and fiscal terms
- Familiarity with digital twin technology and predictive maintenance
