Deepwater SURF Design Engineer

A leading international EPC contractor is seeking an experienced Deepwater SURF Design Engineer to deliver integrated design of SURF (Subsea Umbilical, Riser & Flowline) systems for deepwater field developments across the APAC region.You will be responsible for system layout, component design, interface coordination, and integrity analysis. Conducting dynamic analysis, fatigue assessment, and installation design, you will ensure SURF system designs match subsea production and floating structure requirements.This is a senior role on some of the most technically demanding deepwater projects in the Asia-Pacific.

• Integrated design of SURF (Subsea Umbilical, Riser & Flowline) systems, including system layout, component design, interface coordination, and integrity analysis
• Conduct dynamic analysis, fatigue assessment, installation design, and technical document preparation for deepwater SURF systems
• Cooperate with cross-functional teams to ensure SURF system design matches subsea production and floating structures
• Comply with DNV, API deepwater SURF design and safety standards
• Manage interface between SURF, subsea production system, and floating structure design
• Support installation engineering and offshore commissioning of SURF systems
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation

• Proficient in Flexcom, OrcaFlex, SACS software for SURF system dynamic analysis
• In-depth understanding of umbilical, riser, and flowline integrated design and deepwater offshore technology
• 6+ years of deepwater SURF design experience, familiar with system integration and interface management
• Bachelor's degree in Offshore Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related
• Fluent English communication skills for international project cooperation
• Experience in deepwater (≥1,500m) SURF projects is preferred

• Experience with ultra-deepwater (≥2,000m) SURF design and project delivery
• Familiarity with DNV OS F201, API RP 2RD, and deepwater SURF codes
• Knowledge of SCR, lazy-wave, and steel tube umbilical design
• Experience with TechnipFMC, Subsea 7, or equivalent SURF project delivery
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification

• Competitive daily rate: USD 400 – 550 per day (commensurate with experience)
• Permanent salary: MYR 14,000 – 20,000/month + allowances
