๐Ÿ“‹ About This Role

A leading international EPC contractor is seeking an experienced FPSO Hull Design Engineer to deliver hull structural design, hydrodynamic performance analysis, and stability design for FPSO conversion and newbuild projects in the APAC region.You will complete hull 3D modeling, structural arrangement, weight control, and general arrangement design. Cooperating with shipyard and engineering teams, you will optimize hull design for production and offshore operation while ensuring compliance with IACS, DNV, and ABS standards.This is a senior role offering leadership on landmark FPSO projects across the Asia-Pacific.

๐ŸŽฏ Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out FPSO hull structural design, hydrodynamic performance analysis, hull strength, fatigue, and stability design
  • Complete hull 3D modeling, structural arrangement, weight control, and general arrangement design
  • Prepare hull design documents, calculation reports, and construction specifications
  • Cooperate with shipyard and engineering teams to optimize hull design for production and offshore operation
  • Comply with IACS, DNV, ABS shipbuilding and FPSO hull design standards
  • Conduct hull weight control, fatigue assessment, and structural optimization
  • Support shipyard construction supervision and offshore commissioning

โœ… Core Requirements

  • Master hull design and hydrodynamic software: NAPA, ANSYS AQWA, or Maxsurf; proficient in hull structural analysis
  • Professional knowledge of FPSO hull structure, stability calculation, and shipbuilding technology
  • Experience in FPSO conversion or newbuilding hull design
  • Ability to conduct hull weight control, fatigue assessment, and structural optimization
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related
  • 6+ years of FPSO/hull design experience in offshore/marine projects
  • Fluent English for international project and shipyard cooperation

๐Ÿ’ก Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with turret and/mooring integration hull design
  • Familiarity with DNV hull structural rules (DNV-CG-0128) and IACS CSR
  • Knowledge of FPSO turret, riser, and mooring interface design
  • Experience with MODEC, BW Offshore, or Bumi Armada FPSO projects
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification

  • Competitive daily rate: USD 350 โ€“ 500 per day (commensurate with experience)
  • Permanent salary: MYR 12,000 โ€“ 18,000/month + allowances
