We are seeking an experienced Instrument Lead to oversee all instrumentation engineering activities for a major FPSO conversion and WHP integration project. Based across fabrication yards in Dalian and Dubai, with operational support for the Campos Basin, you will ensure the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of instrumentation systems meet project specifications, safety standards, and schedule requirements.
π― Key Responsibilities
Lead the instrumentation engineering team, managing work packages for FPSO topsides and WHP modifications.
Review and approve instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and cable schedules.
Oversee the procurement and technical evaluation of field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and analyzers.
Ensure compliance with IEC 61508/61511 (SIL) requirements and project-specific functional safety philosophies.
Coordinate with the ICSS team to ensure seamless integration of field devices with the DCS/ESD/F&G systems.
Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, and hook-up activities at the COSCO yard and Dubai fabrication site.
Manage vendor packages for specialty instrumentation, including metering skids and subsea control interfaces.
β Core Requirements
Bachelorβs degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore oil & gas, with at least 5 years specifically on FPSO projects.
Proven experience with FPSO conversion projects and WHP integration.
In-depth knowledge of ISA standards, ATEX/IECEx certification requirements, and loop checking procedures.
Proficiency in SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation) or INtools.
Experience with SIL assessment and verification processes.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in a fabrication yard environment.
Fluent English; Portuguese or Mandarin is a strong advantage.

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) status.
Experience with Brazilian ANP/INMETRO regulatory requirements.
