Offshore Electrical Design Engineer

A leading international EPC contractor is seeking an Offshore Electrical Design Engineer to deliver electrical system design for offshore platforms and FPSO units, including power distribution, generation, lighting, and explosion-proof electrical systems across the APAC region.You will complete electrical single-line diagrams, layout design, cable selection, and load calculations. Complying with IEC, DNV, and IEEE offshore electrical safety standards, you will cooperate with instrument and process teams for full electrical system integration.This role is ideal for electrical engineers looking to specialize in offshore electrical systems with a global leader.

• Responsible for offshore/FPSO electrical system design including power distribution, generator, lighting, lightning protection, and explosion-proof electrical design
• Complete electrical single-line diagram, layout design, cable selection, load calculation, and design document preparation
• Comply with IEC, DNV, IEEE offshore electrical safety and explosion-proof standards
• Cooperate with instrument and process teams to complete electrical system integration and commissioning support
• Conduct electrical system analysis, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies
• Prepare technical specifications and engineering documentation
• Interface with clients, verification bodies, and classification societies

• Proficient in electrical design software: EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical; master offshore electrical system design principles
• Familiar with offshore hazardous area electrical explosion-proof design, IEC standards, and power system configuration
• Experience in offshore/FPSO electrical design, capable of independent electrical system design and optimization
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related
• 5+ years of offshore electrical design experience in oil and gas projects
• Fluent English for international project technical cooperation

• Experience with offshore power generation (diesel generators, gas turbines) and HV/LV distribution systems
• Familiarity with IEC 61892, DNV GL-OS-D201, or equivalent offshore electrical standards
• Knowledge of ATEX/IECEx electrical equipment for hazardous areas
• Experience with FPSO electrical system integration and commissioning
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification

• Competitive daily rate: USD 300 – 450 per day (commensurate with experience)
• Permanent salary: MYR 9,000 – 14,000/month + allowances
