A leading international EPC contractor is seeking an Offshore Fire & Safety Design Engineer to design fire fighting, gas detection, fire alarm, and safety systems for offshore platforms and FPSO units across the APAC region.You will formulate fire prevention, explosion protection, and emergency response design schemes; conduct fire risk assessment, system layout, and equipment selection. Complying with IMO, DNV, NFPA, and SOLAS offshore safety standards, you will cooperate with process and E&I teams for full safety system integration.This role is ideal for safety engineers looking to specialize in offshore fire and safety design with a global leader.

๐ŸŽฏ Key Responsibilities

  • Design offshore/FPSO fire fighting, gas detection, fire alarm, and safety systems
  • Formulate fire prevention, explosion protection, and emergency response design schemes
  • Conduct fire risk assessment, system layout, equipment selection, and design document preparation
  • Comply with IMO, DNV, NFPA offshore safety standards
  • Cooperate with process and E&I teams to complete safety system integration and FAT testing
  • Support offshore safety system commissioning and compliance verification
  • Participate in HAZID/HAZOP and safety review workshops

โœ… Core Requirements

  • Professional knowledge of offshore fire safety systems, hazardous area classification, and safety design codes
  • Experience in offshore/FPSO fire and safety design, familiar with fire fighting equipment and safety standards
  • Ability to conduct fire risk assessment and formulate safety design schemes
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Process Engineering, or related
  • 4+ years of offshore safety design experience in oil and gas projects
  • Fluent English for technical document writing and cross-team communication

๐Ÿ’ก Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Deluge, Sprinkler, and water mist fire suppression systems for offshore platforms
  • Familiarity with SOLAS, MODU Code, and FPSO-specific safety regulations
  • Knowledge of gas detection systems (LEL, H2S) and fire alarm control panels
  • Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualification
  • Experience with classified FPSO and offshore platform projects

  • Competitive daily rate: USD 280 โ€“ 400 per day (commensurate with experience)
  • Permanent salary: MYR 7,500 โ€“ 13,000/month + allowances
