Offshore Instrument & Control Design Engineer

A leading international EPC contractor is seeking an Offshore Instrument & Control Design Engineer to deliver instrumentation and control systems design for offshore platforms and FPSO units, including DCS, ESD, FGS, instrument selection, control loop, and P&ID design across the APAC region.You will complete instrument layout, wiring design, calculation reports, and design documentation; support FAT and offshore commissioning. Cooperating with process and electrical teams, you will achieve system automatic control and safety interlock while ensuring compliance with IEC, API, and DNV standards.This role offers excellent project exposure and career development in offshore I&C engineering.

• Design offshore/FPSO instrument and control systems, including DCS, ESD, FGS, instrument selection, control loop, and P&ID design
• Complete instrument layout, wiring design, calculation report, and design document preparation
• Support FAT and offshore commissioning of instrument and control systems
• Comply with IEC, API, DNV offshore instrument control standards and safety requirements
• Cooperate with process and electrical teams to achieve system automatic control and safety interlock
• Conduct loop check, function test, and system commissioning support
• Prepare technical specifications and engineering documentation

• Familiar with offshore instruments (transmitters, control valves), DCS/ESD/FGS system architecture, and control logic
• Experience in offshore/FPSO instrument and control design, proficient in P&ID interpretation and control system design
• Understanding of industrial automation and offshore safety interlock technology
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or related
• 5+ years of offshore instrument and control design experience in oil and gas projects
• Fluent English communication and report writing skills

• Experience with Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, or Yokogawa CENTUM DCS platforms
• Familiarity with IEC 61511, IEC 61508, and safety instrumented system (SIS) design
• Knowledge of offshore hazardous area instrument selection (ATEX, IECEx)
• Experience with FPSO process automation and shutdown system design
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification

• Competitive daily rate: USD 300 – 450 per day (commensurate with experience)
• Permanent salary: MYR 9,000 – 14,000/month + allowances
