A leading international EPC contractor is seeking an Offshore Weight & Stability Design Engineer to deliver weight control, center of gravity calculation, and stability analysis for offshore platforms and FPSO units across the APAC region.You will formulate weight management and stability optimization schemes; conduct weight estimation, tracking, and stability verification under various operating conditions. Preparing weight and stability reports, you will cooperate with structural, hull, and layout teams to optimize overall design.This role is critical to FPSO and offshore floaters projects, offering strong career growth opportunities.

๐ŸŽฏ Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for offshore platform/FPSO weight control, center of gravity calculation, and stability analysis
  • Formulate weight management and stability optimization schemes
  • Conduct weight estimation, tracking, and stability verification under various operating conditions
  • Prepare weight and stability reports for project delivery milestones
  • Cooperate with structural, hull, and layout teams to optimize overall design for stability compliance
  • Conduct intact and damage stability analysis per IMO/SOLAS requirements
  • Track weight growth and implement weight control measures throughout project lifecycle

โœ… Core Requirements

  • Proficient in NAPA, Maxsurf, or MOSES software for weight and stability calculation
  • Solid knowledge of offshore floating structure stability and weight management standards
  • Experience in offshore weight and stability design, capable of independent analysis and reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related
  • 4+ years of offshore weight and stability design experience in oil and gas projects
  • Fluent English communication skills for international project cooperation

๐Ÿ’ก Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FPSO weight and stability for conversion or newbuilding projects
  • Familiarity with IMO A.749, SOLAS Chapter II, and DNV stability standards
  • Knowledge of lightship weight estimation and deadweight analysis
  • Experience with NAPA or Maxsurf for intact and damage stability analysis
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification

  • Competitive daily rate: USD 280 โ€“ 400 per day (commensurate with experience)
  • Permanent salary: MYR 7,500 โ€“ 13,000/month + allowances
