Our client, a leading global EPC contractor with a strong track record in delivering complex offshore FPSO projects, is seeking an experienced Project Control Manager to join their team in Kuala Lumpur for a new greenfield FPSO project.
As Project Control Manager, you will be responsible for leading the entire project controls function โ encompassing cost estimating, scheduling, risk management, and earned value analysis โ across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will oversee the project control team and ensure that all project financial and schedule objectives are met.

๐ฏ Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all project controls activities including cost control, scheduling, risk management, and earned value analysis throughout the FPSO EPCI project lifecycle
Develop and implement the project controls execution plan, including WBS, CBS, and progress measurement systems
Provide input to project execution plans, baseline, and control budgets; report project status and forecasts to the Project Director
Monitor project expenditures including material costs, labor expenses, and subcontractor fees to identify cost savings opportunities and prevent overruns
Take ownership of schedule integrity, proactively monitor productivity, and drive the project team to on-time completion
Conduct regular cost performance reviews and variance analyses; prepare and review monthly forecasts and S-curve reports
Implement and manage the Change Management process, ensuring all schedule and cost impacts are properly evaluated
Lead and develop the project control team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
Collaborate with procurement and contract management teams to evaluate vendor contracts for cost-effectiveness and compliance
Prepare and review bids, estimates, change orders, and cost-to-complete estimates for the project
โ Core Requirements
Minimum 10 years of project controls experience in oil & gas EPCI projects
Proven track record as Project Control Manager on FPSO or large-scale offshore EPC projects
Strong expertise in Primavera P6, Earned Value Management (EVM), cost forecasting, and risk assessment
Proficiency in producing logically linked activity schedules and assessing progress curves, variance reports, and critical paths
Thorough understanding of contract requirements and commercial awareness in EPCI project environments
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
PMP or AACE CCP certification preferred
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Experience with major EPC contractors on greenfield FPSO projects in Southeast Asia
Familiarity with tier-1 EPC contractor systems and processes
Knowledge of Malaysian local content requirements and procurement regulations
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for cost reporting
Advanced degree or additional certifications (RMP, CCP, CEP) would be advantageous
