Position Overview
The ROV Supervisor leads offshore ROV operations, managing the ROV spread, pilot team, and client interface to ensure safe and efficient delivery of subsea remotely operated vehicle campaigns. This role combines technical mastery with supervisory leadership, requiring the ability to manage complex multi-ROV operations and make real-time decisions affecting project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all ROV operations onboard, ensuring safe launch, recovery, diving, and surface handling of ROV systems
- Lead and manage the ROV pilot team including shift scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring
- Act as primary client interface for ROV operations, providing real-time updates and managing scope changes
- Approve all ROV operational procedures, risk assessments, and task plans before execution
- Manage multi-ROV spreads including simultaneous operations and tooling changeovers
- Ensure all ROV maintenance is completed to OEM standards; manage spares inventory and requisitions
- Oversee system upgrades, software updates, and modifications in coordination with onshore engineering
- Conduct pre-mobilization system readiness checks and acceptance testing
- Compile daily ROV operational reports, dive summaries, and client deliverables
- Mentor and assess ROV Pilot Technicians toward competency progression under IMCA or company schemes
Qualifications
Required
- Education: Technical diploma or degree in Engineering discipline; IMCA ROV Supervisor certification
- Certifications: BOSIET/FOET; Valid Offshore Medical; IMCA ROV Supervisor Ticket; First Aid; OPITO-approved certifications as required
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as ROV Pilot/Supervisor with documented experience on work-class systems in construction and IMR roles
- Technical Skills: Multi-ROV spread management; advanced intervention tooling; client-facing communication; team leadership; maintenance management
Preferred
- Experience supervising deepwater (3,000m+) ROV campaigns
- Multi-system experience across different OEM platforms
- IMCA or IOGP audit experience
- Training and mentoring qualifications
