Subsea Control System Design Engineer

A leading international EPC contractor is seeking a Subsea Control System Design Engineer to design subsea control systems including hydraulic control, electrical control, and umbilical integrated control systems for deepwater projects across the APAC region.You will complete control logic, topology design, and component selection; carry out system design, FAT/SIT preparation, and support offshore commissioning and troubleshooting. Working with subsea production system teams, you will achieve seamless system integration while ensuring compliance with API and DNV standards.This role is ideal for control systems engineers looking to advance in the subsea domain with a global leader.

• Design subsea control systems (SCS) including hydraulic control, electrical control, and umbilical integrated control systems
• Complete control logic, topology design, and component selection
• Carry out system design, FAT/SIT preparation, and support offshore commissioning and troubleshooting
• Prepare design documents, control schematics, and cooperate with subsea production system teams for system integration
• Comply with API, DNV subsea control system design and safety standards
• Support interface management with subsea hardware suppliers (trees, manifolds, control pods)
• Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation

• Familiar with subsea control components (subsea trees, manifolds, control pods) and system architecture
• Master hydraulic/electrical control principles and subsea control system architecture
• Experience in subsea control system FEED and detailed design
• Proficient in control system simulation and debugging
• Understanding of subsea communication and data transmission technology
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
• 5+ years of subsea control design experience in offshore oil and gas projects
• Fluent English for international project cooperation

• Experience with electro-hydraulic multiplexed (EHMs) control systems
• Familiarity with subsea electronics modules (SEM) and subsea distribution units (SDU)
• Knowledge of TechnipFMC, Baker Hughes, or Aker Solutions subsea control architectures
• Experience with communications protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus)
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification

• Competitive daily rate: USD 300 – 450 per day (commensurate with experience)
• Permanent salary: MYR 9,000 – 14,000/month + allowances
