Subsea Foundation Design Engineer

A leading international EPC contractor is seeking a Subsea Foundation Design Engineer to design subsea foundations including suction piles, gravity bases, pile foundations, and shallow foundations for deepwater projects in the APAC region.You will conduct bearing capacity, settlement, and stability analysis; complete geotechnical calculations, foundation structure design, and construction scheme formulation. Working closely with geotechnical engineers and installation teams, you will adapt foundation designs to seabed soil conditions while ensuring full compliance with DNV and API standards.This role offers exciting project exposure and strong professional development in the deepwater foundation domain.

• Design subsea foundations including suction piles, gravity bases, pile foundations, and shallow foundations
• Conduct bearing capacity, settlement, and stability analysis
• Complete geotechnical calculation, foundation structure design, and construction scheme formulation
• Cooperate with geotechnical engineers and installation teams to adapt foundation design to seabed soil conditions
• Conduct design verification and risk assessment
• Comply with DNV, API geotechnical and structural design standards
• Prepare design reports, specifications, and engineering documentation

• Master geotechnical analysis and structural design software: Plaxis, SACS, or ANSYS; familiar with subsea foundation design codes
• Professional knowledge of seabed geotechnical engineering, suction pile/gravity foundation design and installation technology
• Experience in offshore/subsea foundation design, proficient in geotechnical parameter analysis and foundation optimization
• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or related
• 5+ years of relevant subsea foundation design experience
• Fluent English for cross-team technical communication

• Experience with suction pile design for deepwater (≥500m) applications
• Familiarity with Plaxis 3D, REMET, or similar geotechnical software
• Knowledge of seabed intervention and rock dumping for foundation preparation
• Experience in Southeast Asian seabed soil conditions
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification

• Competitive daily rate: USD 300 – 450 per day (commensurate with experience)
• Permanent salary: MYR 9,000 – 14,000/month + allowances
