Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager (Oil & Gas) oversees the end-to-end supply chain strategy and operations for offshore oil and gas projects or operations, integrating procurement, logistics, warehousing, and material management to ensure seamless material flow from supplier to offshore installation. This role combines strategic planning with operational execution in one of the most logistically challenging industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies for offshore projects and operations, optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Manage integrated supply chain operations including procurement, expediting, logistics, warehousing, and material control
- Establish and maintain supply chain performance metrics (KPIs) including OTD, fill rate, inventory turns, and cost performance
- Lead supply chain risk identification and mitigation planning, including alternate sourcing strategies for critical materials
- Coordinate with base managers, vessel operators, and logistics providers on offshore material delivery schedules
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and logistics service providers; conduct periodic performance reviews
- Optimize inventory management across onshore warehouses and offshore installations; minimize working capital exposure
- Develop and implement supply chain digitalization initiatives including track-and-trace, e-procurement, and analytics platforms
- Manage supply chain team staffing, structure, and capability development across project or operational portfolio
- Ensure supply chain compliance with quality, HSE, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Required
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or Engineering; Master's degree preferred
- Certifications: CSCP, CLTD, or CIPS certification preferred; APICS CPIM advantageous
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in supply chain management with at least 5 years in oil & gas or offshore industries
- Technical Skills: ERP systems (SAP, Oracle); supply chain planning and optimization; logistics management; inventory control; strategic sourcing; data analytics
Preferred
- Experience with offshore supply base and vessel logistics management
- Digital supply chain transformation experience
- Multi-regional supply chain management across time zones
- Cost reduction and process improvement track record
